Learning Community 2

3/4 Maxine Howard and Nicole Stark

We are well into the swing of things after holidays!

Firstly, we'd like to thank everyone who made the time to attend the Parent Teacher Interviews. It was wonderful to catch up with you all and celebrate your children's successes so far.

We have covered quite a bit of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in these last two weeks.

We have learned about character traits and identified the traits of the four ticker finders so far.

In Writing we have learned about biographies. We each chose an Olympian or Paralympian to research and write a biography about. We found out so much cool information! We also learned about paraphrasing, which was a tricky skill!

Finally in Maths, we had fun learning about Mass, and weighing all sorts of items. We practised using a range of scales and comparing weights. This week we revised graphing, and made a range of graphs from different Olympic data. We finished with a 'swimming' race on the bat tennis courts! We are looking forward to graphing our team's results next week.

A reminder that swimming starts next week. Our time is approx. 11:30 at the swimming pool. It might be a good idea for your child to come with their bathers under their uniform.
