Year 7
SHOWCASE:
Wednesday the 8/8/24, students and teachers presented their work to parents that had been completed over semester 1, including some fresh work from term 3. Domains across year 7 displayed student works throughout the red building, showcasing excellent Art, English, Maths, Humanities, Woodwork, Chinese, Science, Music, P.E, and both SSP and AAP completed works.
Students were able to guide their parents through their achievements, in the comfort of the spaces in which they learn, and engage with both teachers and mentor teachers.
From this teachers were able to establish better relationships with both students and parents, discuss future learning opportunities, and seek further support in how to best support learning here at Western Heights College.
It was great to see the community come together to celebrate student achievement.
Science:
Year 7 students looking at forces using various equipment and looking at friction using multiple surfaces to compare.
Food Tech:
Year 7 food technology making pikelets.
Year 8:
Outdoor Ed:
Year 8 outdoor education class learning how to set up trangias and making hot Milo's.
Science:
Year 8 science making cells out of jelly and lollies.
