Prep Learning Reflection

               What a cold but wonderful week back! All our Preps are so excited to be back at school after a restful break! This week we've been settling into our regular routines like Independent Reading. Next week we are learning the last couple alphabet sounds /x/, /y/ and introducing the double letters with one sound /ll/, /ss/, and /zz/. Just a reminder to bring the reading bag every day as the students read in class as well as at home.

In Mathematics we are continuing with our Explicit teaching program and introducing addition and using popsicle sticks to bundle and make groups. This week we have been reviewing and practising our Maths skills with games like Get Out of My House!

In Writing we are learning about fiction this semester and beginning to explore different authors and stories. Next week we'll start talking about the elements that make up a story. This week we have been writing all about our amazing holidays and responding to different texts! 

We've also been so happy to get back into Investigations and reconnect through play. We've been continuing to build our social and emotional skills through Open Parachute and the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships programs.
