Saturday 19 October, 2 - 8 PM                                                          Spring Magic Market News – Edition #4

-12 WEEKS TIL MARKET-

Our annual school market is a magical event that brings the whole community together for the school’s biggest fundraiser. We need you to make this the best most magical market yet! Can you make, create, bake, donate, or volunteer your time?

STUDENT INVOLVEMENT IN OUR MAGIC MARKET!

Based off an impressive expression of interest from one of our Grade 6 students to host a stall with a share of profits going to the school, we open up this invitation to other students if you have a unique high quality item you are not just wanting to donate - you want to sell! Please contact hendyrebecca494@gmail.com if you have an idea we can discuss further.

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR STUDENT DESIGN/S OF OUR SCHOOL MARKET MAP!

The Market Planning Team would love the hear from students interested in designing / illustrating a map for our Spring Magic Market this year! Students can submit EOI with some ideas on what they might create or any further questions to hendyrebecca494@gmail.com and forde.nat@gmail.com

SECONDHAND / PRE-LOVED MARKET STALL

We will soon be doing a callout for your fantastic pre-loved adult clothes, bags and shoes. So if you’re planning an op shop run or a visit to a pre-love store, please keep your goods aside instead for the School market!! Donation drop off details to follow….

MARKET ENTERTAINMENT

Are you part of a band and want some performance practice? Do you have a circus act or song you are keen to share? We are on the hunt for some magical market entertainment! Contact us HERE.

Please spread the word to those in our community, not just from the school to help make our magic market rock!

INTERESTED IN RUNNING A STALL?

Thank you to those who expressed interest in our last Newsletter at running a stall. NOTE: as a stall coordinator you will have a team of volunteers who will work in shifts on the stall on market day!

We are still after coordinators for our most loved stalls…

  • Treats
  • Disco Coordinator
  • Cake Stall
  • Second handbooks
  • Second hand games
  • Plants

There is still time to put your hand up or share your ideas! If you’d like to register interest or ideas, complete the form HERE. We need to know now, so we can map out what goes where to ensure space for all our fundraising ideas.

Currently our food options are BBQ, baked potatoes, Nuggies food truck (chicken nuggets and chips), Taco Truck (with an old-school parent Raph Boogie!).  It would be great to have some coordinators for Indonesian food options, curries, or the spit roast?

HANDMADE MARKET STALL

Are you creative and love to craft? If the answer is yes, it’s time to get your craft on!

Suggested items include; scrunchies, hairbows, wheat bags, cushion covers, fabric plant holders, pencil cases, baby bibs, baby toys, tie-dye socks, candles, pressed flower bookmarks, knitted items, pottery….

Please put your name and items on the sign-up sheet HERE where you will also find some ideas and easy tutorial links.

In August/September the market team will be hosting a fun “crafter-noon”. This is an opportunity to create some items for the market, gather together, and have fun with members of the school community. Further details on this event to follow.

If you are interested but unsure where to start, please contact stall organiser; Vanessa Hughes at jesse.vanessa.hughes@gmail.com. If you require fabric or thread for your project that could be provided also.

ART & SILENT AUCTION

BNWPS Art Auction showcases the wonderful talent from both budding and established artists within the school community. If you would like to be involved, everyone is welcome, and all donations will be gratefully accepted. All kinds of creative works are accepted.

Some ideas include:

  • Paintings, drawings, sculpture, ceramics, collages, photography, textiles, quilts, and jewellery. Works on paper – unframed is fine but please use good quality paper or frame your work with a new or recycled frame.

This year we are introducing a Silent Auction to the market. Can you or someone you know donate? Whether you own a business, have a great contact, or even have something special at home to donate, the Auction is looking for a variety of bid-worthy items.

  • A fabulous product or voucher that showcases your brand or business
  • Donations of service or classes - pilates, massage, beauty treatments, art classes
  • A getaway somewhere - a beach house, farm stay, or a ‘staycation’
  • A dining experience – vouchers for restaurants/cafes, catering packages
