WHAT NEXT?
- Rehearsals
- Given the large number of students involved, and the need for greater productivity, the rehearsal schedule has changed for the next 3 weeks:
- Wednesday MORNING 8.05am – 8.35am: Year 3/4/5/6s
- Wednesday AFTERNOON 2.15pm – 2.45pm: Year 1/2s
- Wednesdays 2.45-3.05pm – ALL BSC singers
- I understand this change may be challenging; please contact Ru or Bernadette directly to discuss any issues. Thanks in advance for your efforts to support this change.
- All rehearsals will be held in MPR unless otherwise advised.
- Given the large number of students involved, and the need for greater productivity, the rehearsal schedule has changed for the next 3 weeks:
- Polishing Rehearsal - Saturday 27th July
- Church of All Nations, 180 Palmerston St Carlton, 10-30am-12.30pm
- This rehearsal is compulsory for all participating students.
- Parents will be responsible for transport. Students will be supervised by Bernadette and a Trinity staff member.
- Students are meant to know the songs off by heart by this rehearsal. No booklets or music will be used on stage.
- Home learning
- Thanks for your sing-learning efforts over the break. I appreciate this may have been tough but some students have clearly put some time in – well done. I’ve found a little exposure goes a long way so please do your best to expose students to the songs.
- Students should have a booklet with song lyrics and Youtube links have been sent out via Seesaw and Whatsapp. Please contact Mr Ru if you have any trouble accessing this material.
- Please note that, despite earlier attempts to learn two parts, I have decided that all students will be singing Part 1. The relevant clip is made clear on the youtube link. It is most important that they only practice their given part – to avoid confusion. Once they are confident with their voice part, it will be useful to listen to the “All Parts” clips to hear how it all fits together.
- The link has had some recent updates and so the students are also able to access videos of the actions to some of the songs.
- Tickets
- Tickets are now available for purchase. Visit https://www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1241139?
- Concert Uniform
- T-shirt transfers will be provided for every student
- Miss Bernadette will collect these at the Rehearsal on 27th July.
- In line with the sustainability theme of the BSC, students will need to provide their own CLEAN, PLAIN, coloured T-shirt (not black please- white is finer, colour even better) with NO WRITING OR ANY IMAGES on them.
- Please make sure students have labelled their names on T-shirts.
- Bernadette and parent helpers will iron them on, keep them and take them to the performance. (In the past things have been misplaced at home).
- Students are to wear full black on the bottom half. That is, long pants, thick tights, skirt and black opaque tights, black shoes. NO SHORTS unless tights worn with them.
- Parent Helpers
- Thank you so much to the parents who have already put their hands up to help with upcoming tasks and events. You should by now have been added to Whatsapp Choir Parent Helpers chat. I invite anyone else to let me know if you are interested in being part of this conversation. No problem if it doesn’t fit for you but I can keep you posted anyway.
- Helper tasks will include:
- Assisting at school rehearsals (basically helping to keep the kids focussed while I teach! This will not be such a big issue now the groups are smaller but feel free to let me know if you’re available)
- Ironing on T-shirt transfers (see above)
- Attending on Concert Day (tram travel, supervision etc).
For more information, feel free to contact Mr Ru at school, or Bernadette on 0414 858 738 or dettelannen@gmail.com, and watch this space!
