Prayer: Prayer to Saint James the Apostle
In this prayer to Saint James the Apostle, the faithful ask for the strength to fight the good fight, as James did, in order to be worthy followers of Christ.
O glorious Apostle, St. James, who by reason of thy fervent and generous heart was chosen by Jesus to be a witness of His glory on Mount Tabor, and of His agony in Gethsemane;
He, whose very name is a symbol of struggle and victory: obtain for us strength and consolation in the unending striggles of this life, that, having constantly and generously followed Jesus, we may be victors in the journey and deserve to receive the victor's crown in heaven.
Amen.
Dear Families,
As you may already be aware, Trinity Catholic Primary School was originally called St James' Primary School before its amalgamation with St Ignatius and St John's Primary Schools between 2006 and 2009. The Church which sits on our school site has remained as St James and has a strong history of over 100 years serving the Catholic families in this area. On July 25th each year Roman Catholics celebrate St James' feast day acknowledging him, along with John and Peter, as a special trio that was closest to Jesus among his disciples. This trio witnessed some of Jesus' greatest miracles and stood by his side in his darkest hours.
We have had a great start to the term so far and our children all seem to be enjoying their learning and participating in the many other things we offer at Trinity. We have already had a few new clubs organized this term including a chess club, a drawing club and Yoga for Kids club added to our clubs program. I am constantly inspired by our children's initiative, enthusiasm and leadership.
Farewell Mrs Boffa
A reminder that next Friday at our whole school assembly we will farewell Mrs Boffa. This will be followed by an afternoon tea in the school grounds (weather permitting) or the MPR if it rains. There is a card in the office for anyone who would like to sign it and write a message to Mrs Boffa.
On Monday we presented our Semester Two SRC class reps with their badges and it was wonderful to see their proud faces as they received these in front of the rest of the school. They have already had their first SRC meeting with Mrs Antonella and you can catch up on all that was discussed by reading the minutes of their meeting on Mrs Antonella's Student Leader's page in this newsletter.
Congratulations to or Semester Two SRC Reps.
There are many important events throughout the term so please keep an eye on the School Community Calendar.
