Principals Update

This term has really gained some momentum and we seem to be racing to the finish line. VCE examinations are now all complete and our Year 12s formally celebrated their graduation with family and staff at the Valedictory Dinner on Saturday. It was such a special night with a palpable sense of both excitement and relief.
Our Year 11 students are presently experiencing their second week of Step-Up into their Year 12 classes which sees them finish up for the school year tomorrow and no doubt go into the summer break with plenty of reading and preparation work for 2025.
Year 10 students are diligently approaching their semester exams this week before commencing Step-Up next week, with our junior years 7-9 also commencing their Step-Up program next week (read more about Junior School later in this edition).
In the final few weeks of the school year, we look forward to welcoming our incoming Year 7 students at the State-wide Transition Day on the 10th December, the Colour Run on the 13th December and our College Awards Night on the 18th December (families of students due to receive an award/s will receive communication in early December).
As a school we are also about to embark on the implementation of a change process as we move from the Xuno platform to Compass. Please refer to the section on "Compass Go Live' a little further on in this edition as there's really important information for, and action required, or all parents and carers.
A reminder that this coming Monday, 2nd December is a pupil free day for all students. Staff will be involved in planning and training activities for the day. Please note that College Reception will be closed for the day with staff attending offsite training that will support the Compass implementation.
Finally, as we look to wrapping up the year, I want to thank all the families who have made a contribution to the school's teaching and learning program and facilities and grounds maintenance and improvement via voluntary parent payment contributions this year. We really do appreciate your contribution towards your child's curriculum costs. Payments for 2024 can still be made via Xuno, direct deposit or BPay.
Kind Regards,
Sarah Rose
College Principal
