Michi "Yayoi Kusama is very bold and also the queen of polkadots. We had to draw the head of a flower and a stem. It didn't have to look like a real flower. We also drew the leaves. It had to be bright and colourful."

River "She is 95 years old but she is the coolest 95 year old. Sometimes she has red or orange hair. I did a big flower with a large stem and i put some patterns and polkadots on mine so it looks like her art."

Kokoro "Yayoi Kusama is a special artist because she is the queen of polkadots. She has made a whole room into a polkadot room. I want to be an artist and she is Japanese like me and I was inspired by her. I made my flower with a wiggly stem and it was green and pink."

Grade 2

Its been jam packed in Grade 2, after sleepover fun and today, starting end of year celebrations early with a visit to the movies.

Grade 3 and 4

The Hub has been busy being scientists!

Winnie "We melted chocolate with our hands and counted to 100 while doing it. We learnt that our hands get very warm. We also made balloons inflate by using baking soda. Some people also made ooblek, and some people made ice cream."

Lachie "We also did robotics. We had to make a robot using lego and some electronic parts. We used an ipad to do coding so we could make the robots move and glow. The best thing about doing robotics was when we coded them, which i really enjoyed. Everyone got to have go at the coding."

Bike Education

Penelope "Bike Education was about learning how to ride our bike and learning how to do different things on our bike like moving in between tight spaces, scooting and emergency braking. We did it every day for a week and a half. It was important to learn how to ride a bike because if you don't have a car it can be a quick and healthy option. Bike education helps us to learn how to ride safely."

Jake S "We did a big bike ride on the last day of bike ed. We started at the school and then we rode to Catani Gardens in St Kilda. Along the way we stopped at a few places. It was a beautiful ride because we went past the beach and we got to stop at a park to have a play on the way. We also learnt lots of road rules and safety rules. The weather was really nice. The best thing about it was we got to have fun with our friends."

Grade 5 and 6

Myles "On bike ed I got excited because i usually like to go on bike rides by myself. But this ride was different because it felt more squished. I had to go slow because everyone was learning and we had to be safe. It felt nice to go on a bike ride at school with lots of your friends. On this ride I really had to practise my hand signals because it was especially important to be safe because we were riding in a big group."
