Year 6 Graduation Week

Reflection on an Unforgettable Week for Year 6

The final week for our Year 6 students was nothing short of extraordinary; a beautiful mix of joy, gratitude, and celebration. It marked the culmination of their primary school journey and served as a heartfelt farewell to the community that has supported and nurtured them over the years.

Wednesday, 11th December: Year 6 Fun Day

The excitement was palpable as students boarded the bus to Gumbuya World. This day of adventure and laughter was the perfect opportunity for the cohort to bond and celebrate their time together. The memories made during this outing will undoubtedly be cherished for years to come, reinforcing the friendships that will carry them into their next chapter.

Thursday, 12th December: End of Year Mass

The End of Year Mass was a deeply significant occasion, marking the final time Year 6 students gathered in spiritual reflection as part of our school community. It was a moving celebration, with parents and staff joining together in prayer and gratitude for the incredible journey these students have undertaken.

Friday, 13th December: A Day of Farewells

Friday was filled with heartfelt moments, beginning with the proud display of the ‘Class of 2024’ sign outside the car pick-up zone. The afternoon Guard of Honour was a particularly emotional highlight, with the entire school community coming together to cheer on our graduating class. Seeing parents and teachers share in this special tradition underscored the strong sense of community within our school.

The evening graduation events provided a fittingly celebratory end to the day. The Graduation Mass and Ceremony were beautifully planned, with students showcasing their talents and receiving well-deserved recognition. Leaving families were honoured for their contributions to the school, and the evening concluded with a lively social gathering featuring food, photos, and even a disco!

This week was a poignant reminder that milestones like these are not just about endings; they’re about celebrating growth, resilience, and the exciting beginnings ahead.

Congratulations to the Good Shepherd Class of 2024! May you carry the lessons, friendships, and values from your time here into all your future endeavours.
