School Advisory Council (SAC)

Dear Good Shepherd Community

It is with mixed emotion that I write this last contribution to the newsletter for 2024. As apparent of the school for the last ten years and Chair of the Parish School Board and most recently the School Advisory Council for the last eight, my tenure has come to and end. My last child has now officially graduated from Good Shepherd last Friday with a lovely Graduation Mass and a most spectacular and moving Graduation Ceremony. 

The School Advisory Council has continued to work throughout Term Four providing insights to new school initiatives, discussing results of the 2024 MACSSIS Survey and recommendations of the School Improvement Plan.  As a group we looked at the positives from the data, areas for growth and future recommendations. We also had the opportunity to view the new website and suggest some enhancements to make it more user friendly for parents and also prospective parents.

Under the current leadership structure, Good Shepherd will continue to grow, improve and flourish in this Parish Community. I encourage all families to continue to actively participate and support the school in any way that they are able to.
