What's Happening In Secondary
News and Information from Secondary
Last week was packed with exciting events and memorable experiences for our Secondary students!
First, we had 20 students proudly representing DCS at the Inter-Christian Athletics Carnival in Launceston. Students competed in various events, showing their dedication and sportsmanship. In addition to the athletics, we had a unique opportunity to work with *Playce*, a consultation firm from Launceston. They visited our campus to gather insights directly from our students on what they would love to see in the upcoming Bluff Playground development. Our students were especially enthusiastic about casting their votes in favour of a new basketball court—a popular choice among many!
We were also thrilled to welcome Blake Young, a talented rapper, who came to share his story with our young people. His powerful message about resilience, creativity and staying true to oneself resonated deeply with the students and sparked inspiring conversations.
Lastly, we hosted trainers from 'The Rite Journey' program, with staff from other schools joining us for this training. We are excited to roll out 'The Rite Journey' next year, a program designed to support our Year 9 students as they embark on the journey toward adulthood. We look forward to partnering closely with parents in guiding our 15-year-olds through this significant stage of life.

Destiny Rescue Fundraiser: Hot Chips
As part of our fundraising for Destiny Rescue, we are selling cups of hot chips again on Friday 15th November and Friday 22nd November at lunchtime - please note this is for secondary students only.
$5 per cup, please bring in your cash and put your name on the list at Secondary Reception with Mrs Kohler by 9am Friday morning.
Public Holiday
School will be closed on Friday 29th November for the Devonport Show public holiday.
