Dear Parents and Friends,
We are rapidly approaching the end of the school year and students and staff have been very busy.
Please note that next Monday is a school closure day and no classes will take place. Camp Australia Care will be available if you require it. Please register as per normal.
On Friday 15 November, all students took part in our House Sporting Carnival. Students competed in sprints as well as a number of novelty events. We were blessed with beautiful weather and it was great to see everyone participate and have fun. Congratulations to Green House on winning overall. Special mention to Michelle Fan (Year 6) who won the Year 6, 800m legacy race. A big thanks to Miss Banks for preparing students and organising this event.
Last Friday a large number of students participated in our annual student talent quest. Some of the acts included singing, dancing, gymnastics, jokes, instrumental performances and magic. It was wonderful to see so many students get on stage and have a go. Thanks to Mrs Markham for organising this event again.
On Monday the students in Years 1/2 visited the Scienceworks Museum in Spotswood. This excursion linked in with their current Integrated Studies topic of . The visit also included the planetarium which has a domed ceiling, reclining seats, surround sound system and a full-dome video projection system. The students were able to view a live presentation of the current night sky and the major astronomical objects that can be seen. Please see the full report on the next page.
Last Friday the City of Monash presented our Year 5/6 Environmental Group with certificates. This was in recognition of the sustainability workshop they completed two weeks ago as well as the work they have done at school including a 'nude food' week and clean up days.
On Monday, 18th November, our Prep class had an exciting excursion to Cranbourne Gardens. It was a wonderful day filled with learning, adventure, and exploration in nature. Please see the full report on the Learning and Teaching page
A large number of students took part in the Premier's Reading Challenge again this year. These students were presented with their certificates at the assembly last week. Congratulations to all these students and thanks Fransisca for organising this again.
Our next assembly will take place tomorrow at 3pm in the hall. This will include students of the week. All welcome.
