We kicked the weekend off with some spikeball and touch footy on McMahon Oval before a group headed out to Hendra for a couple of hours at Urban Extreme. It’s always a favourite activity with Laser Tag, Ninja Course, Running Ramps, Trampolines and Dodgeball on offer!
On Saturday morning we loaded the bus and drove down the coast for a day at Wet n Wild. The weather was a scorcher and we couldn’t have picked a better day for the water park. The boys enjoyed plenty of time in the wave pool and lazy river with the Black Hole being the general favourite ride for the day. We rolled back through the gates at Marist around 4:00pm and settled in for a quiet evening in the dorms after a busy day.
A group of ten Years 11 and 12 boarders headed out to the Willowbank Raceway on Sunday morning to take part in a Defensive Driving course. The boys were put in a series of challenging situations with different types of vehicles that tested their ability to react quickly and rationally under pressure. The instructors were impressed with the boys' efforts and adaptability to the various scenarios and I’m sure the experience will help the boys as they continue on their driving journeys. Back at school, we had 35 boys head out for a city trip to Queen Street in the morning. A couple of hours in the city yielded all sorts of interesting purchases with some boys picking up snacks and stationery while others picked up new kicks and clothes. The pool and weights room were opened for a couple of hours in the afternoon to round out another busy weekend.
