Principal News - Term 4 Week 7

End of Year Events:

We head into December soon with some exciting events for the children.  Year 3 + 4 Swimming starts Monday 2 December and runs for 7 sessions over two weeks. Our Year 3 Camp at ADANAC starts Wednesday 4th December.  In the next week, the year 6 students have their year 7 orientation day to secondary schools and we have our Community Picnic on Wednesday 11th December. Start time is 5.30 pm. This is always a big social get-together and there will be many picnic rugs and lots of Christmas cheer. Eltham Rotary will set up a BBQ on the synthetic turf area outside the BER building.

Our School Council have our final board meeting for the year this week.  We use this meeting to approve important financial documents.  The school program budget and parent contribution payments will be discussed for next year.  Staffing is nearly finalised and we will be pleased to be able to announce where teachers will be placed very soon. There will be a change of classroom locations as we will be grouping year 3+4 classes together in the lower basketball court zone and year 5+6 classes in the two storey BER building.  The library, mindfulness centre and auslan rooms will also be relocated.

We commence student transitions Monday 2 December. Students currently in year Prep - year 5 inclusive will move to their new class grouping for 2025.  There will be a few opportunities for the students to meet their new teacher.

Also a shout out this week to Audra in year 6.  Audra represented Eltham North Primary in the interschools competition at the Lilydale and Yarra Valley show on last Sunday. She was riding her Pony called Prinni. Audra walked away with many awards and came first in the interschools year 4 - 6  primary rider and first in the interschool handling across all primary ages. It was cold and wet but she kept smiling. See more photos in the school website
