Learning Enhancement
Amidst the busy-ness and excitement of Term 4 teaching and learning, professional learning, fun days, theme days, sports events, incursions, report writing, and transition days, a lot has gone on behind the scenes to prepare for Term 1, 2025.
We are blessed to have received resources made available to us through CESL’s Magnify program. Included in the resources for students are full class sets of decodable texts for our Foundations and Grade 1 classes, and novel sets for all Grade 3, 4, 5 & 6 students. Year 2 students have an abundance of literacy resources as part of the InitiaLit classroom kits. These are all unpacked and organised for use at the start of 2025.
Our teachers are also well resourced. They have attended MultiLit training to prepare for the synthetic phonics-based reading program, and viewed webinars to learn about Ochre, the web-based resource for the novel study guides and for Mathematics across every year level.
There have also been days for the leadership team to upskill and learn, so we can best support and guide our teachers and students through the implementation process.
MultiLit and Ochre were chosen by CESL as the best fit for schools across the Sandhurst Diocese. All of the resources used are Australian, based on the latest education research, the science of learning, and input from schools and dioceses that have improved the academic results of their students through the use of these resources and the explicit teaching model.
We trust that Magnify, in all its elements, will benefit your children’s literacy and numeracy skills, creative and critical thinking, metacognition and problem solving.
There are a lot of changes, but we embrace the opportunity to work with quality resources to deliver a low-variance, explicitly taught curriculum with the full support of Catholic Education Sandhurst Limited.
Wishing you and your families a blessed Christmas and a safe and happy 2025.

We appreciate your patience and understanding, especially with the late arrival of Issue 8. It's reassuring to know that Scholastic is taking steps to improve their delivery process in 2025.
We're also looking forward to receiving the remaining order today. As soon as it arrives, we will begin distributing it to the students or notify you if you have placed an order as a gift.
