What an amazing, fun-filled few weeks we’ve had!
The day of our last newsletter we had our Colour Run, where students enjoyed being sprayed with colour and raising money for our school, and to support conservation programs in the Great Barrier Reef. All-in-all, the school raised $1528! This was a wonderful effort and maybe next year we can raise enough to slime Mrs Hartley.
Last week, students and staff enjoyed Wellbeing Week. It was a welcome reminder to slow down andtake care of ourselves. Students took part in a variety of activities including creating a friendship flower garden, playing games outside, and making a compli-mat. They even enjoyed a yummy icy-pole on Friday!
On Monday, we enjoyed our Level excursion to ACMI which had been postponed from earlier in the year. Students learnt about Alice in Wonderland, how special effects are created in movies, and created their own video using a green screen. They also had the chance to look through the interactive exhibits at ACMI and enjoyed their lunch in Federation Square. It was an amazing day, enjoyed by all.
The Level has spent this week celebrating all of their hard work in our Design and Integrated Studies units through sharing their work with each other. For Design, they presented their rubber band-powered toys to the Level, discussing the successes and challenges they faced. As part of our Integrated Studies unit on Australia, students set up their work on a chosen state and took part in a gallery walk of the whole Level's work. It is wonderful to see students share their work and take pride in their learning.
On Thursday, students shared their amazing art work at our annual Art Show. There were lots of wonderful works of art created by the 3/4s to see, and it was lovely to see students walking around and enjoying each other's work.
We thank all our lovely students and families for a wonderful year and are looking forward to enjoying one more week with the Year 3/4 students of 2024.
We wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas break!
