Excursion Year 9 & 11

BUILD 10 EXCURSION

On Tuesday 29th October we had eight Year 9 students attend Build 10, which was a taster day for different careers within the construction industry. This was held at the Echuca Campus of Bendigo TAFE. It was very hands on, and our students were put into groups with students from other schools, rotating around sessions in carpentry, bricklaying, concreting, plastering and getting job ready. 

The students thoroughly enjoyed the day. Following on from this taster day, some of these students may decide to complete the Cert II in Construction Pathways next year. This will be run by Bendigo TAFE at their Echuca Campus two days a week, which will form part of their school program.

YEAR 11 EXCURSION – LATROBE UNIVERSITY & BENDIGO TAFE

On Thursday (November 7th) our Year 11 VCE students had the chance to attend an excursion to Bendigo to visit La Trobe University and Bendigo TAFE (City Campus).       This allowed students to learn more about their course offerings and look through their facilities. It was a busy day, with a lot to take in. 

Lunch at Strath Village also proved a hit, with plenty of food choices. A highlight included Vince Murtagh’s entertaining tour of the health facilities at Bendigo TAFE.
