Year 1/2 Vet Visit

As part of our Term Four Inquiry topic about community helpers, we were excited to have a special visit to our school from a local veterinarian, who also bought their friendly dog! Dr. Prev helped us learn about how how different people in our community contribute to our wellbeing in unique ways. The Year 1/2s had the chance to ask questions and interact with Dr. Prev and his dog, Bear.
On Wednesday, Dr Prev came to our school to teach us about what vets do. He helps animals and he knows who the owners are because he has a special scanner that scans dogs. I got to ask Dr Prev if I could pat his dog, Bear. This is important because dogs might get scared if they don’t know who you are.

Dr Prev came to our school on Wednesday the 13th and he bought his dog, Bear. He showed us how to approach dogs safely. He chose me to dress up as a nurse to show everyone how he does surgery. Then when he was leaving, Bear licked me on the hand! It was really fun.

Last Wednesday a vet came to our school. He came with his dog. The dog was a Cavoodle and his name was Bear. He told us that Vets help sick and injured animals. I got to hear Bear's heartbeat with the stethoscope. It was fun!
