Year 1

Students engaged in a fun and hands-on activity to learn about procedural texts by making popcorn and fairy bread. They explored the importance of clear, step-by-step instructions, identifying key elements like verbs, sequencing, and materials needed.

In Numeracy, students learned about halves and quarters by drawing shapes on the ground with chalk and dividing them into equal parts. This hands-on activity helped them visualize and understand how to split objects into two or four equal sections.   

Inspired by their "olden days" unit, students eagerly requested to play elastics, a popular game from the past. They enjoyed relearning the rules and experiencing a fun game with their friends.

Students proudly completed their presentations on community helpers, sharing what they learned about the important roles these individuals play. Their creative posters and thoughtful explanations showcased their understanding and appreciation for these vital members of our community.
