Year 6
Hello from 6V
Throughout this very busy term, the Year 6 cohort (and 6V) has been working hard on planning, calculating costs for, constructing and, now, painting our billy carts.
Over the span of the last several weeks, we have formed groups of three-five students across the whole cohort, naming ourselves and planning a theme and design for our carts.
Each Tuesday and Thursday afternoon, we have combined with the rest of the year level and have done the following:
- discussed and considered safety considerations for the project
- researched elements to include in our designs
- planned the finished design of our carts, from side and back views
- helped measure and construct the billy cart using wood, power tools, and screws
- primed the wood with a white primer coat to limit bleeding and absorption of paint into the raw material
- added design details and colour
We can’t wait to race these on Friday 6th December, and hope to see everybody there!
