During Literacy, we have begun learning to write a persuasive text. We have learnt that a persuasive text is when we try and make someone believe our point of view. We have also learnt the difference between a fact and an opinion, like dogs are better pets than cats because dogs are always happy to see their owner.

We have also been learning about similies. Similies use words such as
'like' or 'as' to describe something or someone. Mrs O'Reilly is as clever as a cookie!

During Numeracy, we are reviewing our knowledge of place value. We know that it is really important to understand as the the value of the digit can change its value depending on where you place it in a number e.g. in the number 42 the 4 represents 4 tens or 40 but in the number 124 the 4 represents 4 ones or 4. We are beginning to represent our understanding by using MAB.

We have also begun to develop our understanding of mass. We have enjoyed exploring the use of balancing scales to discover items which are heavier or lighter. We have also explored using 'hefting.' This is when we place object in our hands are try to work out the item which is heavier or lighter

During Inquiry, we have continued to look at maps as well as locating places. We have explored maps and how to use coordinates to locate places and/or objects. It has been a lot of fun exploring how the coordinates to locate which objects are hiding in different areas of a maps grid.
