COVID Restrictions

Government rules around covid safety in schools have changed yet again.  Here's the most up to date information relevant to schools as at August 15.  Note that the rules change regularly.  Contact the school if you require further updates or clarification.

Limited visitor access

Visitors to all school premises should be limited to essential school services and operations.   Essential visitors to school grounds must comply with density limits, face mask requirements, QR code check-ins and practise good hand hygiene.   Essential visitors include:

  • Specialist support workers such as speech therapists and counselors
  • Reading assistants
  • Canteen workers

Masks

As directed by the Victorian Chief Health Officer, the following advice applies to all school settings:

  • School staff and secondary school students aged 12 or older must always wear a face mask indoors and outdoors at school, unless a lawful exception applies.
  • Children under 12 years of age and students at primary school are not required to wear face masks when at school.

Face masks are mandatory for all school staff and school students aged 12 or older when travelling to and from school on public transport and when in taxis or ride share vehicles.

Parent-Teacher Interviews

It had been our strong preference to conduct parent-teacher interviews face-to-face before now but covid regulations have consistently got in the way.  We are still not permitted to meet in person at the moment.  It seems we will have to be content with Zoom meetings instead.  We'll send out details of how to sign up for PTIs shortly.

Check ins

  • In line with government regulations, all visitors to the school are required to check using the QR code available for scanning outside both front office doors.  All visitors, including parents, must check in using the QR code system or the alternate manual check in system.
  • Parents picking up or dropping off students do not need to check in unless they enter one of the school buildings.
