Academic Care and Wellbeing

Our Year 10’s from the Student Representative Council recently attended a forum on mental health.  As part of the day, they devised a plan to help students at the College to make connections.  They designed a 10 week Olympiad that gives students an opportunity to engage with each other in Homegroup time.  Last week we had a hard fought tunnel ball challenge that saw Homegroups go head to head for the points on offer.  Not only was it a lot of fun, but it was a great way of starting the day with fresh air and smiles.  Congratulations to all our winners.

At the end of last term we launched the application process for student leaders in Year 12, 2022.  Applications are open for students to apply for both House and College Captain positions for 2022 and will close on Friday, August 13 (Term 3, Week 5). Applications are hand written and a copy can be found in the front office.  A similar process is in place at Mount Erin Boarding to apply for the role of Boarding Captain in 2022.

Please encourage your child to consider applying for a leadership position for 2022.

We would like to remind the community that our Police Liaison Officer is Senior Constable Tim Bourke.  Senior Constable Bourke recently spoke to our Year 8, 9, and 10 students about the legalities of vaping.  The clear message is that underage use and the sales of vapes are illegal. Senior Constable Bourke is here to support our community and is more than happy to speak in confidence with any students or parents. He can be contacted via email at bour1tim@police.nsw.gov.au.
