Leader In Me and Student Leadership

As the term draws to a close, our focus becomes on our ‘Circle of Control’. Tying in with Habit 1: Be Proactive, this element is important to focus on, particularly during times of stress. Proactive people focus on what is within their circle of control.

When feeling stressed or overwhelmed, it is ideal to reflect and ask yourself “Is this situation within my control or is it out of my control?” A number of times, you’ll find that issues can be out of our hands. What is in our control, however, is how we choose to respond and react. With time and practise, we can learn to let go of angst when we realise we cannot control it. We waste less time stewing or stressing over situations when we cannot change it. Instead, focus on how you respond and what you put out there (your circle of influence).

Our leaders are continuing to put ideas and feedback into action. They have been working hard to prioritise and find resolutions where possible, including researching and finding information to support their solutions. They are dedicated to making their impact as the 2021 Junior School Leaders.

I wish you all a restful break over the school holidays and look forward to seeing our students back, refreshed and ready for Term 3.
