Classroom News - Year 2

Welcome to Term 3. We are very excited to be back! It has been lovely chatting with parents and discussing your child's progress during Semester 1, we look forward to seeing more learning in Semester 2.  

English

In English, we are continuing to learn sounds and spelling knowledge as well as thinking about what we are reading about, using comprehension strategies. 

Our writing is going well and we are trying to always use a capital letter at the beginning of sentences and for proper nouns. 

Maths 

In our Maths lessons, we have been focusing on money and whole number. We have been counting different values of money and we have started calculating change. 

Gymnastics 

Year 2 have started going to gymnastics on Wednesdays. We have enjoyed the different activities and tried very hard. Thank you for wearing your coloured house shirts on Wednesdays as this makes it easier for us to sort into groups to complete the activities.
