Duke of Edinburgh

Duke of Edinburgh Award

Last week a member from the Duke of Edinburgh Award  Office came to visit the 2019 Duke of Edinburgh Award students from Year 9. Although the girls have already completed their first practice hike at Phillip Island, this was the official sign up using the new online system.

We had approximately 55 students complete the practice hike at Phillip Island. We now have the majority of these students who have completed their online application. The girls are now encouraged to source specific “Assessors” that will monitor their participation in a new SKILL, a new RECREATION activity and a form of VOLUNTARY work.

The role of the Assessor is to watch/teach/ work with/coach and encourage the student in her chosen activities over the period of 13 weeks or 26 weeks. They will then write a report on the skills learnt and the behaviours shown by the student whilst under their care and guidance.

We would like to have all of these Assessors confirmed as soon as possible so that the Year 9 Duke of Edinburgh Award students can start their components.

We are looking forward to working with the 2019 Duke of Edinburgh Award girls.
