HPS School Values

INTEGRITY   CARE   COOPERATION   RESPECT

You have the right to learn at a school where you feel safe, happy and important.

(A ‘right’ is something that belongs to you and cannot be taken away by anyone. Your teachers and classmates have the same rights.)

This will be achieved by everyone practising

the school values and following the school rules.

 Integrity

What this means:

I am honest, truthful and trustworthy.

I take responsibility for my actions.

I act in ways that help others to develop positive attitudes towards themselves, their class, their family, our school and our country.

Care

What this means:

I help and support others in work and play.

I consider other people’s needs.

I am kind and thoughtful.

I consider other people’s feelings.

I give and share.

I work well with others. I am encouraging and I add strength to a team.

I am loyal.

I enjoy having fun with others and I enjoy their company.

I help others to feel happy about themselves and school.

I am pleasant to visitors, teachers and new students, and I try to make them feel welcome.

I speak kindly to others. I use friendly talk.

I speak kindly and fairly about others.

Cooperation

What this means:

I work well with everyone in the school community to make our school the best it can be.

I work as a member of a team to help achieve its goals.

I help and support others to achieve their best.

When I work with others, I consider their opinions and I value their skills.

I understand that rules are helpful, and I obey the rules in whatever activity that I am doing.

Respect

What this means:

I listen to others. I understand that other people have rights.

I understand that other people may have ideas or beliefs that are different from mine, and I don’t put them down because of this.

I give feedback to others in a positive way that helps them to improve and feel good about themselves.

I am pleased to be me; I look after myself to stay healthy and happy.

I make choices that help me feel good about myself.

I treat others in the way that I would like to be treated.
