Business Expo

On Wednesday the 11th of September, the two Year Ten classes of Business Management hosted the annual Business Expo in M06 and M07. This was a fantastic experience for the classes as they had been working on planning their own business for months in the Plan Your Own Enterprise Competition Sponsored by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. All students had to come up with an idea for a business then, slowly we went through the costs, the marketing strategies and the legal requirements for each respective business, and wrote our plans.

The Business Expo was a fantastic opportunity for the students to both showcase their plans and bring their business to life. There were many different stalls varying from the hospitality industry, retail and there was even a surf business. Of course, there was a feeling of competition in the air as the owners of each business tried to get students and teachers alike to come and look at their stalls and vote for them. In the end, the most popular business turned out to be Xavier Dole’s “Scale” with a whopping vote count of 143 votes. This was an incredible day for all the students and they really enjoyed it.

A very special Thank you to Mrs Matthews, and to all the students who participated in this wonderful event.  The expo would not have been possible without all your enthusiasm, blood, sweat and tears.
