Plot to Pot News

Thank you everyone for supporting the Plot to Pot Pop Up stall on Tuesday. Dana has commenced as our new cooking teacher and she absolutely loved our children and the whole program. Please make her welcome and everyone is invited to assist in the kitchen when your child has Plot to Pot.

I would like to thank those families who so kindly wash all the tea towels and aprons each week in Plot to Pot. This is much appreciated.

Foundation Wheelie Fun!

It was so exciting watching the Foundation students using their bikes and scooters to learn about directional language in mathematics. There were smiles all round and all children loved following the directions as instructed by their teachers.

It is so important to our staff to make learning relevant!

Thank you families for your support in bringing along the bikes and scooters.

Bushfire Preparedness Program - Year 3/4

Today the Year 3/4 students have been provided with a wonderful program on Bushfire Preparedness by Cardinia Shire. They have had the fire truck visit as well as a session by the Shire on being Fire Ready, specifically for children.

This is a result of the surveys conducted by the Shire and culminates in the evening on Wednesday August 28th for Menzies Creek residents in our multipurpose room. You will receive further information about this.

Parent Opinion Survey

The Parent Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is conducted amongst a sample of randomly selected parents at each school. To date we have had 13 responses out of 50! We would like this number to be as high as possible.

Just a reminder that the survey is able to be completed until Sunday August 18. We ask as many parents as possible who were invited to participate in the survey to complete the survey as your feedback is very important to us. We thank you in advance for taking the time to provide us with your feedback.

Community Forum

One Hour of Your Time- Monday August 26th- 6.30 to 7.30 pm Babysitters Provided!

This year in Term 4 our school will undergo a review, where every aspect of our school is assessed by an independent reviewer.

Part of this process is to have community input.

School Council will host a Community Forum and ask that you attend to provide important information to develop our next four year improvement plan. We want to know what we have done well, what you expect for your child and what we can do to improve?

The last time we held this forum we had 45 parents attend and gained a wonderful perspective into the thoughts of the community.

We urge you to attend for just one hour to offer your opinions. School Council will host this with no staff in attendance.

Assembly

This week assembly will only be for Year 3 to 6 students as the Junior school will be rehearsing for their production.

Year 3/4 M will be presenting and all families are welcome to attend.

Take care

Tanya
