Todd Woodbridge Cup State Final-St Xavier's 2nd in the State

On Monday 18th November, 10 children travelled to Sydney to compete in the State Final of the Todd Woodbridge Cup Tennis Competition. This competition is for Year 3 & 4 students across NSW and the ACT and uses modified equipment, numeric scoring and mixed gender teams. The St Xavier's team had qualified for the State Final after winning both the Zone and Regional Gala Days held earlier in the year.

The team was made up of the following students; Archie McCormack, Sam Swain, Jedd Smallwood, Oliver Gainsford, Lachlan Gurney, Jazmin Hobden, Hannah MacKellar, Dana Campbell, Leah Keam and Eliza Campbell.

At the conclusion of the pool matches St Xavier's had won all their rounds placing them at the top of their pool and moving them into the semi final. A win in the semi final saw the team contest the grand final and after a nail biting finish St Xavier's came away with the second place medals - 2nd in the State!!! What an achievement!!!

Over 600 teams from across NSW and the ACT took part in the Todd Woodbridge Cup this year so to finish second overall was such a thrill! The children were absolutely wonderful representatives of their school showing sportsmanship and teamwork on and off the court. The highlight of the day was meeting Todd Woodbridge himself and having him present our medals and sign our hats!

A massive congratulations to all involved! The school is so very proud of these children and the amazing results they achieved.

Calrossy Horse Sports

St. Xavier's took a small team of four riders to Calrossy Horse Sports last Friday. They rode extremely well, winning many ribbons between them. It was a great day and our young riders had a great time with the variety of events. Congratulations to Lily Dunkley, Caitlin Guy, Jazmin Hobden and Jessica Swain for their success and amazing sportmanship.

Special congratulations to Jazmin Hobden for Reserve Champion 10yrs girl High Pointscore and Caitlin Guy for winning Sporting Champion 10yrs as well as Champion 10yrs girl High Pointscore, then going on to win the Champion Junior High Pointscore and then the Overall Champion Pointscore.

2020 Swimming Carnival

Next year the St Xavier's Swimming Carnival will be held on Friday 21 February. Please note this will be a daytime carnival, not a twilight carnival as in previous years.
