Term Three Inquiry - Parent Session

On Monday, during our school closure day,  our staff are working with Shaz Bailey our educational consultant on the pedagogy of inquiry. We will then Friday June 10 be working in teams with Shaz to plan our Term Three Inquiry. This inquiry we will be working through the concepts of perspectives and communication through the history, indigenous perspectives and critical and creative thinking curriculums.

As part of our planning process the students will have opportunities to have a voice and contribute to the planning of the inquiry and we would like to again work with our parents to gain their insights and contributions to our planning of the inquiry.

We will have a parent inquiry planning (brainstorm) session next Thursday 2 June at 9am in the Jarrow Room. We would love for you to join us. At this meeting I will explain the teacher brainstorm / planning based on the Victorian Curriculum at present and invite the parents to contribute to a brainstorm of ideas and possibilities.

If you are able to come to this half hour session please rsvp to myself at lboyhan@sbedesbn.catholic.edu.au

School Closure Day

Monday 30th May is a school closure day. Staff will participate in a days professional learning  with a focus on Inquiry. We are working with the educational consultant Shaz Bailey.

Shaz has worked with Kath Murdoch (our previous educational consultant) and is the chair of the PYP network (Primary Years Program- International Baccalaureate). Shaz will work with us on the pedagogy of inquiry at a full day PL.  She will also work with staff in facilitated planning sessions supporting the planning of the term inquiries.

Hand Hygiene

We have had a 'bug' going through the school this last week with many students absent from school. We are reminding the children at school about good hand hygiene (washing their hands regularly and hand sanitizing). All classrooms have large containers of hand sanitizer.

Could all parents please remind their children of the importance of regularly washing and sanitizing their hands.

Have a great weekend.
