From the Principal
Week 5 Term 2 2022
Dear Parents and Carers
St Bede's Feast Day
Yesterday as a school community we celebrated the feast day of St Bede, ( more information about St Bede can be found on the reflection page).
The day commenced with mass and ended with an engaging Kaboom sports afternoon. In between the children were involved in a variety of art activities as well as receiving a sausage for lunch (Thanks Parents and Friends Assoc). It was an amazing day and I thank Ms Reed for her organisation of such a wonderful event.
Professional Learning - Student Free day
Monday the 30th is a pupil free day. The staff will be involved in Professional learning on this day. The focus for staff is on the 'Inquiry" approach to learning.
COVID update
On Tuesday I sent out a letter outlining the updated COVID 19 requirements. You will have noticed that there is no longer any requirement to test twice weekly unless your child has symptoms. If you need any RATS please contact the office.
As you will have noticed through media reports the flu is prevalent in all schools at the moment. Please keep your child home if they are unwell.
My school Connect/Skoolbag
My school connect and skoolbag have recently joined together in an attempt to provide a "one shop" communication tool for schools to use with parents. They have asked St Bede's to be the first school to trial the new initiatives. If you receive communication from
either skoolbag or my school connect it is not a hoax. I will keep our community up to date with the new initiatives as we work through them together.
Eucharist Faith Evening
A faith evening will be held for all families who have a child preparing to celebrate the sacrament of First Eucharist, this Tuesday evening May 31 commencing at 7.00pm. It will be held in the church and be led by Fr John.
Parent Helpers
Parents Helpers will re commence in Term 3. Further information will be provided soon including the date and time for the session as well as COVID requirements. It will be great to have parents back in the classrooms.
Have a great week
Brian
