Inquiry

The Year 3’s have begun their new Unit Of Inquiry, Where We Are In Place And Time and have been learning about Australian and Indigenous culture.

The Year 3 students have started investigating a notable Indigenous Australian to research, develop a PowerPoint slideshow and deliver an oral presentation on their subject of choice.

We are looking forward to our incursion by Ian Hunter, Elder of the Indigenous Wurundjeri

people of Melbourne next week to share his stories and for us to share our findings about Aboriginal culture.

Over the past couple of weeks, we have played Aboriginal Games for Year 3 sport. The first game, Gun-dah, is a bat and ball game where you have to defend the wickets and four kids can bowl at you at once!

The second game was called Emu which was a tiggy game. You have to run from the Emu and if you want to have a break you can go to your base but the Emu can count to 5 and when they get to 5 you have to run. They were both really fun.

Max -The morning was pretty normal. We did the roll and then played a game of unlucky 11. Then we went for a HOT lap.

Audrey- We walked into the classroom and found that the tables and chairs were a bit different and there were pencils, paper and laptops on our desks all ready to go.

Q. How do you feel before the test?

Max- I was excited to log on and start the test.

Audrey- I felt a bit nervous about the test.

Q. How do you feel after the test?

Max- Happy that I finished the test. Once we logged off we could read our book

Audrey- I was relieved and happy that I finished the test.
