Year 1 News

Literacy - Weekly Literacy Groups

Each week the Year One students participate in Literacy Groups. The students rotate through a range of activities where they read with the teacher, complete a spelling activity focusing on their words for the week and complete a task on Reading Eggs on the iPads. 

This is an invaluable time for the students to build on their individual reading skills and independence whilst undertaking fun and exciting learning activities.

Maths

In Maths, the Year One students have been exploring various aspects of Number and Place Value. Students having been developing their ability to recognise, represent and order numbers to at least 100 using materials, diagrams, words, numerals and a number line.

The children thoroughly enjoyed making and ordering their very own class number line!
