Year 6 - High School transition
Enter for Success program (2023 Reception and 2022 Year 6 students)
The Enter for Success strategy gives Aboriginal and /or Torres Strait Island students the opportunity to enrol and be accepted into any government school they choose the year before starting school.
The strategy aims to support the inclusion, attendance, participation and retention of Aboriginal students at school.
The strategy applies to:
- Children eligible to start reception in 2023
- Year 6 students applying to start secondary school in 2023.
A place will have been made for your child at their local school, however, if you wish for your child to attend a different school, you can select another school through the Enter for Success strategy. Once a school is chosen, the school will work with you to make sure they give your child the necessary support and opportunities to achieve their best at school.
How to apply:
- Families looking to apply for reception should contact us directly on <enter relevant phone number and email> for an application to register your interest in reception for 2023.
- Year 6 families would have recently received a registration form to start secondary school in 2023. The Enter for Success strategy is automatically applied to all students who identify as Aboriginal and/ or Torres Strait Islander. You should complete and return your child’s form by 27 May 2022.
If you’re interested in the strategy for your child, you will need to contact us as soon as possible to discuss the options for your child and commitment of everyone involved.
