Welcome to Term 2

Dear Parents/Guardians,

A warm welcome to you all once again! We started off with a hugely successful camp at Lady Northcote organised by Ms Michelle! The weather was kind to us and we managed to experience so many outdoor activities and challenge ourselves in so many ways! A huge thank you for your support in preparing our students and sending them off with positivity!

This week our year 5s will showcase their flexibility and courage as they take part in their first NAPLAN assessment. Please keep things as normal as possible and shower them with encouragement and praise! We all perform at our best when we feel confident and understand that the small challenges we may come across, can be opportunities for our  future learning.

We also welcome Ms Lupo (Jenny) and Ms Kasikakis (Helen) this week, who will be filling in for Ms Papadopoulos (Sonia) whilst she takes some personal leave. Grade 6A will temporarily be in the large double room with 5B, and 5A will be in the portable, in room 14.

Thank you for returning the report questions to us. If you haven’t done so already, please have them returned to your child’s classroom teacher by Friday, 13 May.

REMINDERS

Stay home when unwell

The most important action school communities can take to reduce the risk of transmission of coronavirus (COVID-19), is to ensure that any unwell students remain at home, even with mild symptoms.

Practise good hygiene

All staff, students and visitors to schools should undertake regular hand hygiene, particularly on arrival to school, before and after eating, after blowing their nose, coughing, sneezing or using the toilet.

Absences

If your child is going to be absent from school, please mark the absence in XUNO prior to school starting. If you have any questions on how to join XUNO, please speak to the friendly staff at the front office.

Tissue Boxes

As the ‘cold and flu’ season is here, please send in tissue boxes for classroom use. Thank you to those who have already done so!

Feel free to contact your child’s teacher if you have any queries.

Kind regards and looking forward to our continued partnership!
