Senior Showcase

What a spectacular evening
As a new staff member at TCC I was amazed at the quality of talented students, the dedication of staff and the quality CAPA programme that is offered at this College. The ‘Senior Secondary Showcase’ highlights the development of the students as they achieve incredible new heights and a celebration of their talents and hours of hard work.
If you didn’t make it this year be sure to be there next year to see one of the many opportunities for your son/daughter to shine at this school.
Tiana Young and Ally James took us to the Jazz club. Tiana had a 'great groove goin on', in ‘Take 5’ on the piano, with Mr Elith on double bass and Mr Donaldson on drums and Ally James played smooth and complicated melodies and very cool slap bass in ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s'.
To change the mood a little, Keren Macpherson, could definitely be on the ‘Voice’ sang sweet and powerful notes accompanied beautifully by Mr Day. Madi Moriarty played a great arrangement on piano of a Leonard Cohen favourite, 'Hallelujah', supported by Mrs Hambly's smooth flute tones. Josh Reynolds 'Wow' ed us with his smooth technique and precision on the clarinet.
The Year 11's, Katie Caldwell, Savannah Clements , James Eppingstall , Alethea Foakes, So Ka Maw Kyaw, Matt Locke, Charli Mackintosh, Jake Grace & Tiana Manuel were coming together with ‘Love Lifts Us Up Where We Belong’ with awesome rhythms and musical tones as a vocal and musical ensemble.
Joshua Reynolds performed brilliantly in a variety of roles. Ask him to show you his thick Russian accent and his beautifully hand crafted wooden ‘Conductor’ stand. Perhaps he will conduct the Australian Symphony Orchestra, one day.
Like Joshua, Lily Nesbitt confidently played an eccentric, slightly deranged English woman, alongside a variety of other intriguing characters on the night. Lily, Joshua and Rhiaan Wheatley also presented an excellent performance about the absurdity of trending in their hilarious Absurd theatre piece. James Martin was hilarious as the misunderstood and neglected English teacher, whilst James' group, including; Madi Moriarty, Tenisha Corbett , Adam Hambilton and Matrix Sumpner-Johnston, were very entertaining in a hilarious and very clever self devised play called ‘A Whirlwind of Possibilities' that followed a 70 year old man's adventure of a life time. Matrix's southern American drawl was so believable and she was captivating as 'The Towel Lady’. And to end the night we were again laughing in our seats at the comical timing of Adam Hambilton as he embodied a variety of roles in his attempt to pitch his pet cemetery idea.
The Artwork /Technology display was fantastic and Mrs Grimwood and Mr Craig have worked hours supporting these students to develop their personal projects.
These included Hannah Davey's 'Silence' sculptures, Madi Moriarty's 'Listen' sculpture, Abby Minett's photography installation called 'Natures Eye' and Tenisha Corbett's 'Ec(h)o' sculpture from Year 12. Year 11 Visual Arts students included 'When Angels Fall' by Alex Windsor, 'Homeland' by Jedda Marr, 'Danggi duwi', 'Guwiyn mitayn' and 'Barraba barray' by Iesha Gundy Clark, 'No Face' by Charlotte Mackintosh, 'Rastafarian Lion' by Savannah Clements, 'Marty the Dog' and 'Life as a Little Person' by Kayla Hunter, and 'Time Erodes Intricacies' by Annie Duffin and Kaitlin Reeman.
The Year 12 Technology students with magnificent work on display were Josh Reynolds with his conductor stand and Adam Hambilton with his animation.
Mrs Amber and the Food Tech students provided delicious canapes and cakes.
It was a wonderful evening.
