Primary CSSA Athletics Carnival
On Friday 18 August, we attended the Primary State CSSA Athletics Carnival held at Blackthorn International Sports Centre. The team was 16 athletes strong after exceptional results at the THACCCSSA two weeks earlier. Three of our four relay teams qualified for State and the teams put in a great effort on the day. Of special note are our four athletes who will be moving on to the State CIS carnival later this term. They are Kalea Paulson (11yrs shot put), Amiah De Wright (8yrs 100m), Ciara Wilkinson (Jnr shot put) and Asha Lawton (11yrs high jump). Special mention should also be given to Asha, who was able to set a new record for 11 year old girls high jump at the Zone Carnival, jumping an amazing 1.32m. Well done girls and well done to the whole team who did a great job!

Secondary Basketball Gala Day
The Basketball gala day was held on the 7th August in Maitland and Broadmeadow with TCC sending a junior team in both the boys and girls divisions and a senior team in the boys. The senior boys had a tough start to the day playing the eventual winners of the gala day first. They enjoyed their day and saw huge improvements towards the end of the gala. The junior boys got into their rhythm early in the day and finished their pool games with a very good win securing them a place in the playoffs, finishing the day in 5th place.
The junior girls were one of the top teams at the gala day and performed extremely well. They played a very competitive grand final, narrowly losing by 1 Point to the winners Green Point. Congratulations girls, you did our school proud.
All students were great representatives of TCC both on and off the court. Thanks to Miss Rorison for coming down as our expert coach for the day.
