Kitchen Garden

This week we continued our exploration of eggs with Vicki teaching our foundation students how to make an omelette.

Students continued to practise cracking eggs and observed an egg being separated to show the structure and different parts.

They used a whisk, a rotary hand beater and a grater to prepare the ingredients to make the omelette and used knives to safely chop herbs to add to the mixture..

Students also learnt about the different types of egg farming and how chicks hatch. They created a small factual book called ‘Hatching’ showing the stages of hatching. Many of our Foundation students were surprised to learn chicks had an egg tooth to get out of their eggs to hatch.
