As we are now past the ‘half way’ mark of term 4, our focus on plans for 2023 is very much a priority. Currently staff are busy finalising our class dynamics for 2023, placing students in their class cohorts based on student, parent, specialist and staff input. In the coming weeks, students will take part in a range of activities to prepare them for transition to their 2023 classes.During week 10 and 11 students from Foundation to Year 5 will participate in transition sessions at school to assist with their smooth progression to their 2023 classes. The students will enjoy ‘getting to know you’ games, exploring their new learning spaces and participating in activities together. The final whole school transition and orientation day is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 13th December where the students will meet their new teachers and classmates.

New Specialist Subject for 2023

In 2023, our school will be providing five specialist subjects for students in all year levels. Along with Physical Education, Visual Art, Performing Art (Music), Language (Mandarin), we will be introducing a STEM (Science Technology Engineering Maths) subject across the school. The major focus of this specialist area, with be the use of technology and cyber awareness, along with the development of technical skills areas such as coding.

Twilight working bee- wonderful result!

We had a very hard working group of families attend our Working Bee on Friday afterschool, with many of the garden areas cleaned up, new plants planted, debris cleared and some essential painting works carried out. The school grounds are looking excellent thanks to the efforts of our parents and staff, and some students who helped on Friday night. Fred Hollows Foundation Humanitarian Award

We are very excited to have one of our students recognised for their leadership and community work through a successful nomination for the Fred Hollows Humanitarian Award. Harper Towers (year 6) will take part in a presentation tomorrow to acknowledge her hard work and commitment to leadership at Albany Rise Primary School and beyond in the broader community. Congratulations Harper! We are very proud of you.

2024 Enrolments

The Education Department has recently released a new plan and process for the timeline of Foundation enrolments for 2024 and beyond. The process is aligned to the Year 6-7 process, ensuring more consistent and timely enrolment to primary school practices across the state.

Over the last three years we have urged parents to have applications for enrolment provided by June in the year prior. It is important for us to be able to plan for the following year with clear information. One of the most important aspects of this is understanding how many siblings will be enrolling. If you have a younger child who will be school age come 2024, please consider assisting us by downloading an enrolment form from the ARPS website or by picking one up from the office and then completing it as soon as possible.

To assist our planning we would like to hear from families who are moving and their children not returning to Albany Rise in 2023. If you are leaving our school (excluding Year 6 graduates) and have not yet informed the office, please let us know as soon as possible.

Dropping Off Students

Please be reminded that students should not be dropped off or be arriving at school before 8:45am. Supervision in the school yard commences at 8:45am every morning, and it is imperative that students arrive between 8:45am and 9:00am. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
