A New Chapter

STORIES FROM THE LIBRARY

Stories from the Library

Kindergarten students have enjoyed listening to the adventures of The Gruffalo. It is exciting to see how enthusiastic our students are about borrowing and reading books. The new books this year have been shared and loved by many students.

Remembrance Day was explored by our younger students through the picture book Lest we Forget, written by Kerry Brown. Older students listened to and discussed the picture book One Minute’s Silence, written by David Metzenthen. Every student also examined a penny from 1942. This enabled us to imagine what journeys the penny could have been on; maybe even being held by a soldier during World War II.

We also decorated our own Remembrance Day poppies.

We look forward to immersing our students further in the wonderful real and imaginary worlds of literature during library lessons and in the new library next year.
