Throughout the week students have been involved in many cultural experiences including a smoking ceremony, didgeridoo performance and dance workshop with Bob Blair as well as NAIDOC lessons and finishing off the week with a NAIDOC assembly featuring guest speaker Thomas Draper and a Bob Marley song performed by a staff/student band.

ABORIGINAL ARTWORK: Students decorating the quad with Aboriginal artwork.

NAIDOC ASSEMBLY: Students and teachers prepared a music piece for the assembly and Thomas Draper speaking to the school community.

GET UP, STAND UP - BOB MARLEY (with adapted words)
Get up, stand up
Stand up for what’s right
Get up, stand up
Stand up for what’s right
Get up, stand up
Stand up for what’s right
Get up, stand up
Don't give up the fight

My Ancestors do tell me
our country is Sacred Land
And its first people
On it proudly stand

Sixty Thousand years
Lets right the wrongs and end our tears
So now you see the light, hey
You stand up for what’s right
Come on

Get up, stand up
Stand up for what’s right
Get up, stand up
Don't give up the fight
Get up, stand up
Stand up for what's right
Get up, stand up
Don't give up the fight

Truth to be told
For us all to understand
Histories tragedies
Blood shed on sacred land

But it’s time to leave the past behind
Time to move forward for all mankind
And now it’s been a while
Yes it’s time to reconcile

Get up, stand up (Jah, Jah)
Stand up for what’s right (oh-hoo)
Get up, stand up (get up, stand up)
Don't give up the fight (life is your right)
Get up, stand up (so we can't give up the fight)
Stand up for what’s rights (Lord, Lord)
Get up, stand up (keep on struggling on)
Don't give up the fight (yeah)

Hand in hand we can make things right
Brothers and sisters come and join the fight
Uluru Statement from the Heart
Come together and do your part
Our future filled with hope and pride
But only together can we turn the tide
So now we know what’s right (watch you gon' do?)
We gonna stand with all our might (yeah, yeah)
So you'd better

Get up, stand up (in the morning) give it up
Stand up for what’s right (stand up right now)
Get up, stand up
Don't give up the fight (don't give it up, don't give it up)
Get up, stand up (get up, stand up)
Stand up for what’s right (get up, stand up)
Get up, stand up
Don't give up the fight (get up, stand up)
Get up, stand up

Stand up for what’s right
Get up, stand up
Don't give up the fight!
