Dear Parents and Carers,

The sense of community at the Middle of Term (MOT) breakfast was wonderful and it was great to see a number of families able to join us on-site and to catch up. A huge thanks to the P & F who provided us with the delicious muffins and to Cafe Connect for your support with the great coffee!

It was a pleasure to see our Year 6 students proudly sharing their PYP Exhibition of 2021 last week. This was the outcome of eight weeks of hard work this term and last. The theme for this year’s Exhibition was focussed on the concept of alternative sources of energy, enabling the students to explore a number of different types of renewable energy throughout the process.

Throughout the process, the students have worked both individually, in small groups, and as a grade group to focus on the skills of collaboration, time management, delegation, research, and presenting in order to put together a successful exhibition.

Our Foundation students and families are looking forward to their upcoming information evening on Monday 15 November, followed by their three orientation visits to the school on the following Monday mornings. We have a range of exciting activities planned to welcome the children and to help them settle into our school environment. We look forward to welcoming the children and their families very soon!

Many of our Year 5 students have been preparing their leadership applications and speeches in looking towards 2022. We have received a number of high-quality applications and appreciate the number of students who are keen to ‘give back’ to Golden Grove in a formal leadership role.

Congratulations to the many students who graduated from Children's University last week. It has been great to see the children trying out so many different experiences in sport, the arts, cultural activities, travelling to different places, and many more! Well done on the way that you've expanded your horizons!

We had many students proudly represent our school at the Connected Schools Athletics Carnival, where we came out on top in the Star Relay!

Our students were fantastic in the way that they competed well and in the right spirit. They were outstanding representatives of Golden Grove on the day.

Blessings,

Will
