Invitation from YACVic: Engaging Young People in Bushfire Recovery, Resources and Final Report Launch
Youth Affairs Council Victoria invite you to join us on Monday 8 November 2021, 4-5pm for the launch of:
- A Seat at the Table: Young People and Disaster Recovery; A Guide to meaningful Youth Engagement, Participation, and Inclusion
- Speaking Up: Young people’s experience of Bushfire and Recovery Report and recommendations; a partnership between YACVic, DET and BRV
The launch will include an interactive panel with young people, project partners, and an overview of the resources and report
Panel Speakers include:
- Carmel Flynn (she/her) – CEO, Bushfire Recovery Victoria
- Todd Macbeth (he/him) –Director, Inclusive Education Professional Practice Branch Department of Education
- Katherine Ellis (she/her) CEO, Youth Affairs Council Victoria
- Quinn Obran, (she/her) YACVic Youth Bushfire Recovery Working Group
This work was led by the YACVic Youth Bushfire Recovery Working Group, which consists of 12 young people aged 12-25, living in rural and regional parts of eastern Victoria impacted by the 2019 - 2020 Eastern Victorian Bushfires (East Gippsland, Towong, Alpine and beyond).
