Principal's Message

Well hold onto your hats and buckle up!

The rollercoaster ride of the Year 12 exams is underway. English is always the first exam and that kicked off Wednesday at 9.00 am. Myself and their teachers, plus senior staff were there to wish the students well. They seemed excited, yet nervous as would be expected.

Thursday was Art and Theatre Studies, and todaywas  Biology and Further Maths (1). All students have a copy of their timetables for exams ……… Don’t lose them!

The Year 11 students also began exams this week and it seems that all has gone well. I received an excited text from a teacher earlier this week, saying how fantastic it is that of 7 exams, so far, for Year 11, we have had 100% attendance! 😊 That is outstanding and displays a wonderful work ethic, congratulations to our Year 11 students.

All the students across all aspects of VCE / Year 12 and the VCAL students have all worked so hard in this tough year, they should be congratulated. Myself and the staff are very proud of them and hope everything goes well.

On another note it is so nice to be a school again. By that I mean, have all staff and students back on board. It hasn’t all been 'smooth sailing' as we have to again establish routine, structure and expectations. Fingers crossed for an uninterrupted rest of the term, so we can smash out the maximum for the next 6 weeks.

Year 7 camp! Well hasn’t that been a rollercoaster ride. On again, off again, on again and off again and now ON AGAIN! The Summit Camp had a cancellation, so we have grabbed the new dates Wednesday 3rd to Friday 5th November. (Just a week delay) I was wrapped when we could have the dates because on Monday when we told kids that they couldn’t go, their disappointed faces was heart breaking. But, yeah! – we can go now. 😊 Make sure that you are aware of all details and if you have any questions or doubts please talk to the Hub staff asap.

Speaking of camps! The Year 11 into Year 12 study camp is now also able to go ahead. (November 24th, 25th and 26th) This is a critical transition point for our students between Year 11 and moving into Year 12. There is an expectation that all students will attend, so please be sure to be across all details and again, discuss any concerns or questions with the Hub staff. All Year 12 teachers for 2022 will be present to begin the work and set up the year ahead.

Something to Ponder: In all the state of flux and uncertainty that we have experienced this year (and last) please ponder how you can contribute to the next 6 weeks being 'calm and predictable'. All of us – staff and students have endured so much change and unpredictability,  we all need structure and routine.

As always – happy to chat, just contact the office for an appointment.
