MFG Living Garden

Spotted in the MFG garden in early winter…

  • Year 8 students working on their Maths ‘Water Tasks’. They are trying to calculate whether or not the school’s water tanks are big enough to cater for our garden’s needs
  • Year 9 students making furniture, including ‘living chairs’. These items will then be put to use in other locations around the school
  • DAL employees working with our staff and students to make furniture and other items, including a deck and planter boxes (made from reclaimed materials)
  • Hungry worms being fed scraps (including teabags and banana skins!) by students
  • Cauliflower, broccoli and lettuce seedlings emerging from potting mix. These will be ready to plant in a few weeks to provide staff and students with nutritious vegies over the winter months
  • Several hardy tomato plants that are still fruiting (despite the frosty mornings)
  • A fire pit, ready to be cranked up during the cold winter ahead

If you have any supplies that might be useful for the garden (including wood, plants, seedlings, other building materials, etc), please contact Mr Paul Dangerfield.
