Seasons for Growth® Program
Learning to live with change and loss
Change and loss are issues that affect all of us at some stage in our lives.
At St Bede’s College, we recognise that when changes occur in families through death, separation, divorce and related circumstances, young people may benefit from learning how to manage these changes effectively.
We’re pleased to offer a successful education program, Seasons for Growth beginning in Term 3. The program is based on research that highlights the importance of social support and the need to practise new skills to cope effectively with change and loss.
It focuses on issues such as self-esteem, managing feelings, problem-solving, decision-making, effective communication and support networks.
There are two planned programs that will be co-facilitated by Ms Kim Ruffels (Wellbeing Team) and Br Tony Cummins (Campus Minister). These programs will run during the school day, in small groups.
- Bentleigh East Campus: Years 7-9
- Mentone Campus: Years 10-12
If you think your child would benefit from Seasons for Growth, we encourage you to talk to them about participating in the program. We’re confident it will be a valuable learning experience for those who would like to be involved.
