Ordinary Time

Our prayer cloths changed to ‘green’ recently in all classrooms and shared learning spaces to signify the change in seasons. We have now entered what is known as ‘Ordinary time’ in our Liturgical calendar but Jesus’ time on earth was anything but ordinary it was extraordinary. To find the extraordinary within the ordinary, you have to see it. And to see it, you have to look for it. And to look for it, you have to have your eyes open. We have endless opportunities to grow our faith and reflect. The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is the little ‘extra’. Your ordinary acts of love and hope point towards the extraordinary! Saint Teresa of Calcutta, famously wrote that to do the ordinary things in our ordinary lives with extraordinary love.

Prayer

Loving God,

Let us be guided by your Spirit to

Pour out our love into everyday ordinary things.

Help us to grow & reflect on all that God has given us,

During this holiday break,

So that we can deepen our faith

In the midst of our everyday lives.,

Amen

Collection of Unused, Unwanted St. Mary’s Uniforms

We have all enjoyed the chance to wear casual clothes today! Funds raised will go towards the postage of school uniform items, to those in need.

We graciously thank our St Mary's Family Kate, Shaun, Finn & Willow Malone from Moama’s Post office, for their contribution towards posting the items.

We will post the first shipment after the 20th of July, however we wish to let families know that we will have another casual clothes day later on in the year; As we know that our students regularly outgrow their clothes! We also want families to get the best use of their existing uniforms and that there is not the need to fully change until 2024. Thanks for your support in this sustainable & social justice initiative.

Invitation for Baptism for Students

Fr. Novie is inviting St. Mary’s families who wish to have their child or children baptised, to contact the Parish office or myself. If you are interested in having your child/ren receive the Sacrament of Baptism we will be scheduling some faith formation sessions in Term’s Three and Four. A letter from Fr. Novie with further information can be accessed via Compass.
