2023 META Exhibition

The 2023 META Art and Design exhibition will be presented by North Metropolitan TAFE (NMT) from Sunday 17 July – Friday 4 August. The exhibition showcases innovative and exciting creative works completed by Year 11 and Year 12 students enrolled in visual art and design courses.

Congratulations to Year 12 student, Rylan W, whose artwork has been selected for this exhibition. His artwork “Beyond the Laughter” an oil painting with Lino print on canvas, has been rendered in hyper realistic manner and explores the power of activism and celebrity culture. By unveiling the multifaceted nature of Steve-O's persona, and transcending his comedic celebrity status, a deep-rooted commitment to addressing serious social issues is revealed.

Artworks are judged on submission which means Rylan has been selected for excellent across both ATAR & General Visual Art & Design courses in Year 11 & 12 in Western Australia. Given that Rylan hasn’t taken Visual Art since Year 10 and only entered the Visual Art General course this year this is an exceptionally impressive achievement.
