Principal's News

Mr Rodrigues

Dear Families,

As we come towards the end of Term 2 and our first Semester, it is very satisfying to look back on all that has been achieved so far in our learning and in our school community.

Of course a major highlight this semester was the school fete which saw our parents, students and teachers all working together top plan and attend this amazing event. Whilst our main purpose was to celebrate as a school and showcase our school to the community, the amazing efforts of our Fete Committee meant that over $10000 was raised. The parents and friends and school board will look at the priorities of the school in determining how best to spend this money for the benefit of our children.

Having had the pleasure of reading student reports, as these are being finalized by classroom teachers, it is clear that so many of our children are making great progress in achieving the skills and learning outcomes prepared for them by classroom teachers and school leaders. At Trinity we are proud of the collaborative approach we take in our planning so that each child's individual learning needs can be met. Teachers work together with our school leaders to gather and use data to inform our teaching, and in classrooms our amazing learning support staff assist teachers to ensure large group, small group and even one on one attention to students can be given when required.

This year we have moved back to NForma reporting software so the written report may look a little different from last year and access will now be made available through the NForma parent portal which we hope will provide easier access for parents. Instructions on how to access the reports online will be sent home in a seperate email tomorrow.

Reports will be available from Monday 19th June. At the Student Led Conversations on Thursday, parents will have time to discuss the report with teachers as well as an opportunity to listen to their child/ren share their learning from Semester One. We know that this is an exciting opportunity for our children and we hope that all parents are able to book a time on PTO for these important conversations.  A reminder that Ms O'Connor only will hold her class Student Led Conversations on Wednesday 21/6 as she is unfortunately unavailable on Thursday 22/6 so if any families in that class have any difficulty with that please contact Ms O'Connor or myself to discuss.

BOITE Choir Fundraiser Beakfast.

As you may be aware, a number of our talented singers from our Trinity Voices school choir are currently involved in the Boite Schools Chorus. The Boîte Schools Chorus is an choir project for schools and community youth choirs. Since 2004 the Boîte Schools Chorus has involved over 9000 students from across Victoria in 42 concerts in Melbourne, Frankston, Ballarat, Bairnsdale & Albury. The Boite Schools Chorus project invites students into a new world through song, builds confidence, broadens horizons and develops valuable performance and interpersonal skills. Each year the chorus focuses on a different cultural theme. The Boite Schools Chorus returns in 2023 with Maiem: Songs from The Torres Straits.

As there are some costs associated with this opportunity the school has agreed to cover most of this, however, the choir have decided they would also like to run a couple of fundraisers to help contribute to the cost.

On Monday morning, Bernadette our choir director, with the wonderful support of Amanda and Mike, will be preparing some delicious Pancakes for just $1 and Egg & Bacon Rolls for $2. All our supplies have been generously donated by our friends at Woolworths ion Abbotsford so all money raised can go towards supporting the choir.

Prayer: A Prayer for Peace in our world

Lord Jesus Christ, You are the true King of peace. In You alone is found freedom.

Please free our world from conflict. Bring unity to troubled nations. Let Your glorious peace reign in every heart.

Dispel all darkness and evil. Protect the dignity of every human life. Replace hatred with Your love.

Give wisdom to world leaders. Free them from selfish ambition. Eliminate all violence and war.

Glorious Virgin Mary, Saint Michael the Archangel, Every angel and saint:

Please pray for peace. Pray for unity amongst nations. Pray for unity amongst all people. Pray for the most vulnerable. Pray for those suffering. Pray for the fearful. Pray for those most in need. Pray for us all.

Jesus, Son of the Living God, have mercy on us. Jesus, hear our prayers.

Jesus, I trust in You!

Amen.

AAP (Annual Action Plan)  Sharing with our Parent Community

Priority 3:  Enable staff, student and parent voice to guide thinking and practice

Goal 4:  Privilege the voice of families in planning and decision-making.

Next term we will be looking closely at the School Vision for Trinity Primary School. The current vision was formulated many years ago and may still be very much valid going forward. However it is important for us as a communilty to review our vision in light of current times, practice and the people who now make up the Trinity School Community to ensure it reamains in line with our priorities for the future.  To achieve this we will work with staff, seek the input and feedback of parents and of course involve our children in this decision making process.

Community Calendar - Keep up with our important dates!

Kind Regards

Nigel Rodrigues
